The development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area) is a key strategic planning in the country’s development blueprint, which have significant bearing on the country's implementation of innovation-driven development and commitment to reform and opening-up. The essence of the development is to leverage the comparative advantages of the cities in the Greater Bay Area, with a view to deepening cooperation amongst Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, facilitating in-depth and organic regional integration, as well as creating synergies in the economic development within the region. The aim is to let the Greater Bay Area become an international first-class bay area ideal for living, working and travelling.

The development of the Greater Bay Area encompasses many policy areas. To facilitate the public and relevant stakeholders to better understand the development opportunities and access to relevant information, the Government has launched a thematic website on Greater Bay Area development recently. It will be updated from time to time to ensure latest updates relating to the Greater Bay Area development are available.
