Creative members’ club, Soho House Hong Kong, launches its 2,500 square feet event space, House Studio. This Sheung Wan venue is the first space to open to public in the building, with its first charity exhibition taking place later this month in collaboration with the non-profit, Xoloplastics.

Featuring eight Hong Kong-based artists including Amy Maria Tong, Sharyn Wortman, Marcel Heijnen, Gemma Hayden Blest, Ghostmountainfield, Tyler Jackson Pritchard, Brendan Fitzpatrick and co-founder of Xoloplastics, Ane Alfeiran, the exhibition proceeds will be used towards providing of an emergency relief program supporting vulnerable families that have been affected by COVID-19 in Mexico. In a joint effort to support the local Hong Kong artistic community, participating artists will also receive 30 per cent of sales from their contributed pieces.

Each artist will create a unique work of art with recycled plastic tiles provided by Xoloplastics, to be exhibited at House Studio. Xoloplastics, with its aim to promote community development, social inclusion and environmental impact through the creation of art, produce these recycled plastic tiles from waste plastic collected from the streets of Mexico, keeping it out of landfills whilst creating jobs within the community.

The collection will debut in an online auction on 5th October 2020, and will be showcased at Soho House Hong Kong from October 12th to 14th. The exhibition will conclude with a live auction of exclusive pieces hosted by auctioneer Georgina Hilton from Christie's, on the evening of14th October, followed by a dinner for participating artists and the winning bidders.
