The Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, founded in 1991, is an independent international business association, representing Dutch or Dutch-related companies of all sizes that have a stake in developing trade in, with, or through Hong Kong.

It is a member-driven, non-profit, non-governmental organisation of business people, and sustains itself through membership subscriptions, advertisements and events.

The Chamber has over 140 companies and members ranging from global market leading multinationals to SMEs and start-ups.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Business Administration & Events Intern supports the operational and organisational activities of the Dutch Chamber, combining administrative responsibilities with hands-on involvement in event coordination. Problem-solving ability, organisational skills, and attention to detail are central to this role.
 
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Direct support to the Head of Member Relations & Events
- Support the creation and processing of invoices, financial administration and other (official) documents when required
- Maintain and organise internal administrative records, documentation, and member-facing materials 
- Assist in the planning and execution of events, from concept to delivery
- Assist in preparing and managing budgets for events and internal operations
- Ensure smooth on-site event execution and operational support
- Work closely with other teams (e.g. marketing) to align event delivery
 
Qualifications
- Ability to take initiative and manage projects from start to finish
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with high attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and anticipate next steps or needs
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Strong communication skills in English, Dutch-speaking ability is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel is key and basic financial understanding (budgeting, invoicing)
- A bachelor’s degree (or currently enrolled in a programme) in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Event Management or a related field gets priority
- Full-time internship (5 days / week)
