Keep growing – Aartsen Asia is looking for a Commercial Account Manager (based in Hong Kong)

At Aartsen, you play in the Champions League of the international fruit and vegetable trade. You will be part of a successful company which exists already for more than 100 years. Aartsen imports fruit and vegetables from more than 50 countries in the world. We distribute to more than 1000 customers in the Benelux market. We do this from our warehouses in Breda (Netherlands), Venlo (near the border of Germany) and St. Katelijne Waver (Belgium). From our office in Hong Kong we distribute fruit and vegetables by air and sea into 15+ different Asian countries which results in an enormous range of customers. As a Commercial Account Manager at Aartsen Asia, you are responsible for the purchasing of fruit and vegetables, and sales distribution into the Asian market. You will actively be involved in growing turnover and scout for new sales possibilities and markets in Asia. You will maintain contact with our international partners on the supply side and with our distribution partners throughout Asia. You will be reporting directly to the management in charge of our office in Hong Kong.

Personal skills we look for:

  • Commercial activities and business development suits you
  • Hands-on approach
  • The ability to confront challenges in a positive manner
  • Excellent English. Other foreign language skills; for example Mandarin, Japanese, Korean or Thai, would be an advantage
  • You are in possession of a post-secondary degree (BA or above)
  • Good 'people skills' and the ability to work with a broad range of colleagues and clients on an international level which requires strong communication skills
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours (and traveling)
  • A professional approach and work ethic
  • Retaining a neat, accurate and organized work attitude is absolutely essential for this vacancy

The work involves:

  • Managing sales accounts
  • Daily contact with clients (e-mail, in person, by phone)
  • Attending client meetings
  • Business Development / new accounts
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients
  • Using a prevailing network to generate new business
  • Contribution to sales targets
